Newstreet this weekend was rocking. People were making memories and having fun. However I have a problem with Oldes. Does the name mean "old people allowed" or is it just a fun word for an old bulding? I mean, the whole time I was there I was approached by old men with old mamas next to them yet they still had the courage to approach me. OK maybe I'm being unfair to say the Oldes is made for old people but I believe that people must have dignity. I'm sure that these people have families waiting for them and their children need them. I just believe that there should be an age limit to people going out and clubbing. I also believe that EQ should not allow anyone above the age of thirty. I do not care what ever people's taste is but they must know that their are youngsters who want to have fun with no adults around. Lets get serious people; how can we live n a society where people we are supposed to look up to are busy embarrassing themselves to us and behaviing like teenagers. It really shows that the youth today really lack role models. Please if any good adult is there HELP US!

have you ever considered the fact that OUR generation is suppoded to be good role models for the next? i see it as a perpetual cycle...they embarass you, you embarass the next generation...you are right though, there are certain places that the more mature elders of our society should not be allowed to enter...but i also think that there are places where the young people of today should not be going to...getting drunk and behaving like the village idiot may seem like great fun...but imagine if your parents or loved ones saw you like that...it is easy to judge the "over 30s"...but i think your discomfort comes from knowing that that is how you are going to end up.
i agree with anonymous! I think that u are being overly simplistic trying to place an age criteria for clubbing as though it is offending anyone that old people are around while the boogy and dance the night away...lol, but on a more serious note, placing an age limit for people that can enter EQ would be a form of discrimination against them as that conduct would be applied under the basis of people's age,and this conduct would be unconstitutional. Furthermore, what sort of activities are you planning on engaging in that you do not want adult spectators for; their being there does not necessarily imply that they will supervising you, although with the things that some people do at EQ, maybe we do need some sort of supervision to keep us from doing things that we would not do if our parents were around. Yes university is about having fun, getting work done and finding yourself, but people let us practice some self control.
And regardless of where you are, there will adults who find you attractive or want to talk to you in bars for whatever reason, this does not justify their actions, all i am saying is that you must prepare yourself now, getting rid of them from social scenes will not eradicate the problems you have with their actions.
